HE GOT HIS NURSING DEGREE FROM THE SAME UNIVERSITY WHERE HE STARTED AS A JANITOR… Frank Baez was a teenager when he started working at NYU’s Langone Tisch Hospital cleaning patient rooms and bathrooms. “I could barely speak English at the time…”. Baez was 15 when he moved to New York from the Dominican Republic with his mom. He started working to help support his family. It was at the hospital that he realized he wanted to help people. He was promoted to patient transporter before he left to finish his bachelor’s degree at Hunter College to become the first in his family to graduate from college. Frank then applied to the accelerated NYU College of Nursing program and graduated with flying colors! He says, ”What I did was, I never gave up.”
